After checking out Nizza for lunch, that same day I went to an old hangout of mine called Blockheads. Blockheads is a chain of Mexican food in NYC. They have locations throughout the city, and they are known for their reasonably priced food and margaritas so it’s a great place to grab some food and drinks with friends after work. Their menu states that everything is gluten free except their flour and whole wheat tortillas. They also have vegetarian and vegan options available.
I ordered my usual choice – the cheese nachos ($6.50) and added beef peccadillo for an extra $3. While the food was as good as ever, I have to admit that the portions have decreased in size. A friend of mine ordered the nachos grande and they were on a larger plate.
I recommend Blockheads for inexpensive Mexican food and drinks. The majority of their food is gluten free, and the staff was well versed in gluten free and cross contamination. Since there are locations throughout Manhattan, you are sure to find one near you!
